I recently started Special Moments Photography by Dawn Friedel as a way to capture timeless experiences between loved
ones. My passion for photography allows
me to see everything in a whole new light when looking through the lens. Although I photograph several types of
sessions, such as family, children, and maternity, I specialize in
photographing special needs children and adults. These children and adults are
under-photographed, and my goal is to capture pure joy in their
expressions. I have a passion for
working with special needs and being able to portray their personality with the
camera. It is an amazing experience!
I have worked with children with Autism since 2008. I began
doing one-on-one ABA therapy with children ranging from ages 2-17. In 2009, I
graduated with my Masters in Education with an emphasis in Autism and taught
Special Education for 3 1/2 years.
Currently, I am a stay-at-home mom with 2 boys (18 mo. and
3-years-old). I love being able to capture moments of delight, particularly in
